strawberries and apple juice dont mix

So we were at church on Sunday and I dropped McKenna and Gwen (cousin who was in town)at nursery and then went to Sunday school which is down the hall from the nursery. I was sitting with my family in the back of the gymn. About 15 min into the lesson a guy pokes his head in the gymn and I thought he was looking at me motioning for me to come over but I wasnt sure because I didnt recognize him. Anyway, finally Travis saw that he had McKenna with him and went over there. I followed because I had the diaper bag and I figured she probably needed to be changed.
When I got there and outside, Travis had McKenna laying across his arms on her stomach, and her diaper was full and she smelled. I looked closer and realized that she had exploded and it had gone everywhere. It was running down her leg and up her back and on her dress. It was the most disgusting thing ever. I felt so bad because she was in nursery and that happened around all the kids and who knows where it got.....
We had kind of rinse her off really quick and then run her home where we threw her in the shower. She was covered head to toe in it, don't ask me how. I concluded that it was probably the strawberries and applejuice she had for breakfast. Never again! Whenever she drinks a lot of juice she has runny diapers, but I haven't experienced this for a while. I wish she was potty trained right about now.

My little fish

McKenna absolutely loves the water. We went to Scera pool in Orem which is this really fun water park that has a kids area as well as an adult area. We went on Memorial day with Brandon and Lindsay which was really fun.
We decided to get some floaties for her because she kind of likes to try and swim by herself and gets mad when I hold her, but the floaties weren't working so well. I was really mad because I thought they were supposed to work and I really wanted her to be able to float.
Anyway she still had fun but got really tired and cranky at the end. We went again yesterday with my mom and dad and Kenna's cousins Keara and Gwen, and Auntie Lindsay. This time was so much better than the other day. I got her different floaties and they actually worked. She can float and swim by herself for the most part. She is so funny, she just kicks her legs and kind of bobs around in the water. She is fearless. She will jump in the water to me from the ledge dunking her whole head in without a care. She will just start running into the water and plop right down in it or try to take off swimming without me right next to her which is actually kind of scary because she doesn't wait for me.
We took her down the big twirlie slide and she loved it! As soon as we got down it she would say "anain". When it was time to go she didnt want to leave, she wanted to stay and swim. I think she was born the wrong species because she loves the water more than the land.
I will be making plenty more trips to the water park this summer because we can't get enough of it. I won't be surprised if she develops fins in the process.

Catching up

So much has happend since my last blog so get ready for a jam packed update of what has been going on with the Harris family, and hopefully you don't get bored while reading this.
We are finally done with managing, yay! I seriously feel I have had the weight of the world lifted off my shoulders. No more rude, whiny and unitelligent tenants bugging me at all hours of the day. I must say though that is was a blessing while it lasted, I mean we didn't have to pay rent and I got to work at home so i guess I can't complain too much, however, putting up with all the stuff I had to I think I have a little bit of complaining rights huh?
I really like our new apartment, although it is smaller, it is nice and Travis put a lot of hard work into it so it makes it that much better. We really love our ward here even though it is small, and McKenna seems to be adjusting well even though she misses her freinds in our old ward. We went to a play group the other day and she just had so much fun playing with all the kids. She is the only girl out of like 5 boys, but she doesn't mind one bit.

Travis is the most wonderful husband, he does so much, he is like superman. I don't know how he finds so much time to do everything he does but somehow he completes twice the amount of things in a day that an average person would. He is amazing and I feel so blessed to be married to him. I am so proud of him considering how he just graduated from BYU...yay!
He is so happy to be done with school as am I. He graduated with a bachelors degree in Chinese and a minor in business. His chinese is amazing and he definately has a talent for understanding and speaking the language. His parents came down from Oregon for the graduation, and my family came up from Idaho and other places around Utah. We were so glad they came to show their support for Travis and are grateful they were here. We all went to crackerbarrel for brunch after since the graduation was at like 8 in the morning. It was fun to be with everyone though. It was a really crazy time with graduation and moving and all, but we survived. We are so grateful to our family for helping us move, it saved us a lot of stress and time.

It was a really good graduation ceremony. Elder Nelson spoke which was nice, but Elder Uchtdorf was there and it was such a good talk, I loved it. I am always so amazed at their abilities to speak in public and reach the audience on such a personal level. Travis parents took us out to a nice dinner after his commencement ceremony which was the night before the graduation. It was a fun weekend. McKenna loved playing with all her cousins. She really needs a permanant playmate. I guess we will have to start working on that.....and no we aren't making an announcement.:)

Travis is now working for a translation company where he translates documents from chinese into English. He has been working there for a while, but he got promoted to a manager over the chinese department and so we are excited for that. He loves his job, but is thinking next year he will go to law school. We are in for the long haul.
I am so proud of him and his accomplishments and I know I am just beginning to see the great things he will go on to do.
I am loving life just spending time with my family and having the freedom to do whatever I want when I want.
Travis surprised me the week after he graduated and said we were going to Hawaii, so we just back this week and finished setting up our apartment. Hawaii will be a whole different blog so prepare yourselves for that...lol.
Anyway, I can't wait for this summer because I am ready to not be tied down with anything and enjoy the many activities we have going on. Yay for warm weather! I can't wait to hang out with all my family in July when they come down for Abbey's wedding. It will be so much fun!
Anyway, I am glad I am all caught up in what has been going on with us lately. No we didn't fall off the face of the earth as some of you might think, we have just had a lot going on.

Quick update

I have been going crazy these last couple of weeks because of all the stuff I have had to do. I am doing checkouts this week and I am so stressed out. On top of that I need to clean my house and start packing to move and do all the closing stuff for YW since I am getting released on Sunday (I hope...they have been saying they would release me for like 3 weeks now). I am trying to play with McKenna as much as possible, but with all the stuff I have to do I feel bad that I don't get to spend as much time with her as I would like. She is probably thinking "I want my mommy back." If I am on edge to anyone who talks to me, forgive me because I just have a lot going on and am really stressed out, so don't take it personal.
Besides that though, everything is good. McKenna is so stinkin cute, I can't stand it. She does the funniest things now. Whenever I change her diaper and she is stinky, she crinkles up her nose and says "dew dinty" or translation "eew, stinky." She loves singing action songs, so whenever she wants to sing them like the itsy bitsy spider, she will put her fingers together and try to do the action of the spider and she says bitsy bitty bider." I also sing her this bunny song and she always puts her hand up to her eyes on the part where it says a "little old man by the window stood." It cracks me up to watch her.
She can pretty much see anyone's picture that she knows and be able to tell you who it is. She also tries to dress herself and it is hilarious because she puts her shirt on top of her head and her pants she only gets on half way and tries to button them herself.
She loves dancing, give her some music and she will start twirling or bouncing up and down. I want to put her in dance eventually.
Pretty much everything she sees like makeup or cute clothes or hair clips she calls pretties. She says "pretty, yeah?" whenever she wants me to put something on her like lip gloss or do her hair.
She has the highest metabolism I have ever seen in a toddler (everyone who is around her a lot knows what I mean) This kid seriously goes about 3 times or more in a day.
She will never sit still and is always getting into something, but we love her to death, and she is such a joy to be around. Her smile can light up the whole room.
We are just counting down the days until we are done managing (1 more week), and are getting ready to move into our new apartment. Travis graduates this Friday, so we are looking forward to having our family here for that.
Anyways, just thought I would share those things with you.

Easter Sunday

We had a nice relaxing Easter. McKenna still doesn't get the concept yet, she just sees easter eggs and is like more cause she knows there is candy in them. It was fun though. She looked so cute in her dress that grandma Allen gave her.

Easter Egg Hunt

So we went to an Easter Egg hunt at UVU. It said it started at 9 online so we get there around 9 and we come to find out it doesn't actually start until 10. There were some activities there though, so McKenna colored a picture, and took a picture with the easter bunny whom she was scared of, and we frosted cookies and ate them.
When the hunt actually began, they started the 0-1 year olds first, so I took McKenna to the back of the room and let her pick up eggs and put them in her basket. She was having a lot of fun.
It made me so mad because this lady had a boy who was maybe a year old and she had this big grocery sack and while I was helping McKenna get eggs there was one that she hadn't picked up yet and I told her to get the egg behind her, but low and behold this lady comes with her big sack full of eggs and swipes the egg. I was like I didn't know this was an easter egg hunt for adults. Seriously though, like a 1 year old would need that much candy, she just took it all for herself, I was mad because McKenna only had like 5 or 6 eggs, oh well though. People are so selfish sometimes. There were a lot of interesting and crazy people there.
We had a lot of fun with it though, and I am glad McKenna enjoyed herself.

Going crazy

So managing apartments definately has ups and downs, probably more downs at this point but who is complaining right....lol. Anyway, as many of you know we have been doing this for 2 years now and will be down in about 2 weeks....yay does not even describe my joy.
We have probably had every thing you can think of happen while we have managed here. I probably have several gray hairs now from all the stress that I have from this job. Just to let you know how crazy this place is, I will just name a few of the things that we have had to deal with. We had to evict a tenant who had overdosed on sleeping pills and a whole bunch of other prescribed medicine and had to go to the emergency room with them. We evicted a tenant for overdosing on Heroine in their bathroom, and a tenant had to break in because he was seizing on the floor, we've had a tenant who threatened to kill his roommate, and the worst one, having to call the police to come to my house because there was a guy who we evicted who wasn't happy about it and came to the office while I was home by myself and like 7 months prego, and he was really mad. He wanted me to give him his deposit back but he hadn't moved out his stuff yet or anything so I couldn't do it. Anyway, he would not leave and just kept harassing me about it, and I called Travis and he came and got him to leave, but he came back and wouldn't leave again, so I tried to call Travis again but he didn't answer, and so I didn't know what to do. I told him he needed to get out of my office please, but he wouldn't and so I told him that it was my house and that he needed to get out right now or I would call the police.
He still didn't leave and so I said I was calling the police. He was like good go ahead I wanted to call them because I wanted to report that you guys stole from me. I was like okay then go call them, and he started yelling at me to call them, so finally I did because I didn't want to deal with his crap and I was scared of him. I really thought he was going to hit me or something.
Travis had come home in the meantime before the police got here, and he tried to get him to leave, but he wouldn't. He tried to go back into our house, but Travis stood in front of him and he got up in Travis face so Travis pushed him away.
5 policemen finally came and they had tazors and everything out because this kid was being aggressive towards them too.
Anyway, that is just some of the stuff we have had to deal with, and this is all BYU approved housing...go figure! I have great stories if you want to hear more, I could go on and on.
So, that is my wonderful saga story and I am just going crazy from all the stuff I have to deal with.
There are so many things that go wrong at apartment complexes and we have probably had to deal with all of them. I really am surprised I am still in one piece and have some sanity left, well maybe I do, I am not sure anymore...
I am counting down the days and trying not to scream when I get calls from college kids parents about stuff that their kids are too chicken to talk to me about themselves, and dealing with people yelling at me and getting mad because they didn't get something fixed that they never submitted a request for in the first place, or telling me this is not fair and that they are reporting us to BYU housing. The list goes on and on, and so am I so I will end it here.
The point is, don't manage single students, they are such whiners, and don't know how to deal with situations in a reasonable manner.
